Is there any troubleshooting I can do to explore it? I've never had this problem before. I can't explain why MPC-HC won't play the file on my desktop PC. Both computers are Win7圆4 SP1, both AMD processors with ATI graphics cards (HTPC: 5670, Desktop: 4550). The odd thing is that my HTPC downstairs seems to play the file fine in MPC-HC (圆4, using Sync renderer). On this computer, VLC (2.1.2) plays the same file just fine, as does Windows Media Center via MediaBrowser 3 Classic (LAV instead of windows media foundation) or TMT5. I've tried reinstalling using reset settings and still see the green screen. Mad-vr as renderer with things turned up as much as my graphics card can do (not much.) Definitely supports 5.1 should just work. I found installing the external ones not the ones that are bundled with MPC-HC works better. I see the same problem whether I use the 圆4 or x86 version of MPC-HC 1.71, using either EVR-CP, Sync, or MadVR renderers. as MKV splitter plus video and audio decoder. However, MPC-HC on my desktop gives a green screen when I try to play the file. I just ripped the bluray of The Hobbit (vol 1: The Unexpected Journey) to MKV with MakeMKV. I'm seeing something odd and wondering how to troubleshoot.
